Lots to consider obviously.

Harris: Newsom probably would go for a young, minority female. Nanette Barragan?
Warren: Wouldn't be surprised if Baker appointed himself.
Gillibrand: Probably Tish James or Caroline Kennedy, but Hillary Clinton is not out of the realm of possibility considering it's Cuomo.
Booker: Murphy has done a good job combating the Jersey Dem machine, but they'll probably win out on this one and get Norcross.
Brown: Probably any generic R.

Klobuchar: A lot of options. Probably Peggy Flanagan, in the same vein as Tina Smith and many other appointed senators, who were also lieutenant governors. Plus, she is a young, minority woman, and would make history as the first Native American woman senator.

Sanders: Not very many options. There aren't a whole lot of Republicans in Vermont. Maybe Joe Benning, the senate minority leader, or Don Turner, the house minority leader. If Phil Scott wants a more centrist type, he could appoint Kurt Wright.

Could Phil Scott appoint himself in Vermont?

For Warren I think Baker would pick either Karyn Polito (current Lt. Gov) or Richard Tisei (former State Sen. and was Baker's Lt. Gov running mate in 2010) who would be Massachusetts' first openly gay Senator.

I don't think so. You can't simultaneously be a governor and senator, and if you resign your governor seat you lose the ability to appoint the senator. Historically, it has been done by resigning and having your lieutenant governor appoint you, but that wouldn't work in this case, since the lieutenant governor is from the progressive party, so he wouldn't appoint Phil Scott.

CA: Toni Atkins, Fiona Ma, John Chiang (I would strongly prefer Chiang as my second choice for gov and he gave up being State Treasurer for the candidacy). Maybe some House freshman, but I doubt that.

MN: Betty McCollum, Dean Philipps

MA: I could see Baker appointing a Dem (Joe Kennedy?)

OH: Jon Husted, Steve Stivers, John Kasich if he wants

VT: Same as in MA (David Zuckerman? Peter Welch?)

NJ: Sheila Oliver, Mikie Sherrill

NY: Kathy Hochul, Kathleen Rice

OR: Suzanne Bonamichi, Kurt Schrader

I do see Tim Ryan running for Senator down the road either in special or against Portman due to Ohio harsh gerrymandering
