I am sure it has been done several times, but we're doing it again. Which do you prefer?

I think New York is the obvious answer, but to each their own.

the pros and cons are huge for both.  I think it would be "cooler" to live in NYC, but I'm not sure it would be worth the hassle of actually living in NYC.  Lean NYC.

I think it'd be more of a hassle to live in LA. Virtually no public transit = constant traffic.

LA easily, because it is far less urban.

I love New York, but LA is ascendant, and is going to be the greatest and most important city in the world someday.

There are pros and cons to both, even though neither would be my first choice of where to live.  I'd probably go LA because of the weather and that I would be more likely to find the sort of neighborhood I would want (especially if I could go to Orange County).  Plus, I kind of feel like there might be a small group of Evangelicals there, but I don't think there really is in NYC.

LA's economic boom is sending more ethnic minorities, not whites to 'SUNBELT STACK' currently at 4% compared to heartland 2.2%

New York rocks, but that La climate. If only they could get a mass transit system worth a damn.

LA’s weather is what even makes this a question for me ... weather being the only thing going for LA in this one is what makes NYC the easy choice in the end.
