Figured that we needed a counterpart to the "Senate elections by congressional district" thread.

A few so far:

(This one combines all 5 statewide FL races, and AG candidate Sean Shaw was the only Democrat to lose FL-13. Everything else was the same for FL-GOV, FL-SEN, and the others)

Oklahoma.

Edmondson winning OK-05 really puts Horn's win into perspective; it definitely seems like she was pulled over by his coattails.

It surprises me that the 4th district was as close as it was given that it's the rural southwestern part of the state

Can someone post the Chicagoland Gov. CD results in 2014 and 2018 - it's hard to see without a close up.

It dips into Oklahoma City.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't actually go into OC proper.  I think it includes a few precincts in the south central part of the county.

Considering how hard OK-05 voted for Edmonson for Governor it is clear that something has fundamentally changed in the area.

Trump probably only wins Oklahoma County by like 3 to 5 in 2020 and Kendra Horn is probably advantaged for re-election.

Kansas

Makes Paul Davis's loss look even worse - Kelly won KS-02 by 9.

Paul Davis's lose is so puzzling. Laura Kelly romped, and he won the district in 2014 when he ran for Governor.....

Very odd how the dems won 12 and 13 CD’s in Illinois for the govnernoes race but lost 6 and 14

Dems won IL-12 and IL-13 despite them electing Repubs for House, and Rauner won IL-6 and IL-14 despite them electing Dems for House. Also interesting that at the beginning of decade, Dems were expected to hold IL-12 (yes, Costello's retirement wasn't expected, but that district also trended right), and have a chance in IL-13 (though they were close this year), and IL-6 was supposed to be a Republican vote sink.

Does anyone have this for 2014?:

Keep in mind Stitt only won by 12 in a state Trump won by 36.

If anybody wants to assist in filling out the map, here you go: legends should be self-explanatory (margin map uses increments of 5; less than 5 points, less than 10 points, less than 15 points, etc). I've went ahead and filled in the results for states that I could easily find.

These are the 2012 CDs, however: PA and VA will need to be updated (as will any others I'm forgetting).

I've actually been keeping track of the districts whenever I see some maps on my Twitter feed (the districts are in the regular colors):

All I need are Alabama, California, New York, and South Carolina.

You may want to double check some districts. I filled in several states via Daily Kos Elections' database and I'm noticing some issues:

  • MN-8 was won by Johnson with a plurality
  • WI-5 was Walker >60% & WI-6 was Walker >50%
  • TX-36 in the tweet above shows it as R>70% rather than R>80%

Also I just hooked up a new monitor, but your shades of red look orange to me: might be my monitor settings, though.

Nah, you’re right, they are orange. I was just leaving that in as a placeholder for now Tongue
