This will be Fiji’s second election since the 2006 military coup in which the current Prime Minister, Frank Bainimarama, came to power. Bainimarama leads the FijiFirst Party, which won 32/50 seats in the 2014 election.

Six parties will contest the election: FijiFirst (32/50), the Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) (15/50), the National Federation Party (3/50), HOPE (Humanity Opportunity Prosperity Equality), Fiji Labour Party (FLP), and the Unity Fiji Party (UFP). 2014 results in parentheses.

Here’s a poll I found.

Is it 68% of people who picked a person? That would make some sense, I guess. 68%, 24%, 5%, and a few others with less than a percent is about 100%

Some early results with SODELPA in the lead; not sure how representative they will be.

Fiji’s election website is currently down.
