When did Trump ever indicate he'd consider doing something to the Saudis. He made it clear he'd do that if they were proven to involved, which means he never was going to do anything, since even if MBS bragged about it, Trump would still consider it fake news about the death of a fake reporter.

Nope. I mean, not a single voter has ever cared about America's cozy relationship with the Saudis. I don't see why Trump's base suddenly would become a bastion of moral conscience. I guess the Dems will suddenly start caring about human rights abuses in/by Saudi Arabia though.
