Just to clarify, I'm trying to provide new megathreads (for when the old one gets too big) some continuity instead of just abruptly ending the old one and starting a new one with zero posts. This means that instead of creating an empty new thread, I split off the last 6-12 pages of the current overly-big megathread into a new thread, and that becomes the new megathread.
So, the reason for this thread: Any users who want to be the authors of any new "major" megathreads, like the stickied ones or fast-moving state/race-specific megathreads, you must have posted sometime within the last 6-12 pages of the previous megathread. If you haven't, I'll go with someone else, since it's not possible to make a user the author of the new thread without them having posted in the range of pages I'm splitting. Also, any users who have in the past deleted large community threads they were OP of for any reason won't be acceptable for megathread authors.
This won't be necessary after the next forum update, but for the time being, it is.
