Teaching Incentives Act

Be it enacted:

Section A: Content

1. Students who are undertaking teaching course(s) at a university or college may apply for a grant from the Southern Government of up to $2000 per year to help subsidize living costs.

Section B: Requirements

1. In order to qualify for this subsidy, students must study at an accredited university or other higher education institution.
2. Students are only eligible for this subsidy if they are studying a teaching course as their major.
3. Subsidies are to be dispensed upon the commencement of the academic year.
4. Applications for subsidies can be made up to a year in advance of the start of the academic year.
5. The deadline for such applications is a month before the start of the academic year.
6. Should recipients of the subsidy opt to withdraw from the educational institution or change their major, they shall be required to repay 40% of the value received.

Section C: Implementation

1. This bill shall take effect immediately upon passage.
