Nay, mostly due to IV.c and IV.d

We shouldn't be trying to increase production of oil. Although the rest of the bill is mostly good, I just simply can't overlook the issues with those two pieces of this bill.

While I agree that the use of fossil fuels isn't ideal, we don't have the means at this time to completely stop using it. At least by upping our production, it reduces our dependence on foreign oil, which puts us in a much better position to hold the nations we keep depending on for oil accountable for actions we don't like.

There's no necessity to increase production, and frankly the threat of climate change far outweighs any potential gains in revenue or otherwise from this. We do need fossil fuels now but we must start phasing down our use of them not continuing to aggravate this problem. After all the first step to getting out of a hole is to stop digging.

We have already started to do this, however fully doing that takes a long time and until then, it's best that we are the source of it rather than nations with horrible human rights practices.

That isn't what's happening though; if this passes both of us will be sources of it and it will simply aggravate the problem.

It's a reasonable step towards reducing our dependence on foreign sources.

Seems like a dumb reason to blow up a good revenue bill like this, especially since this has the added benefit of also hurting OPEC and Russian exports. Increased supply means lower prices for working families who commute.
