After Wallace gave his firey speech, a man dressed in a large sombrero and poncho, as well as sporting a very large mustache, emerged from behind the stage where Wallace stood. The President encouraged construction workers to "beat 'em up, they're not a person, they're a nothin'"

WALLACE: "THIS IS WHY WE NEED A WALL, BILL"

WASHINGTON, D.C. - President Wallace, pictured above leaving a press conference, told Wisconsin Senator William Proxmire during said press conference that "this is why we need a wall, Bill, if we had that wall, tell me, do you think that Mr. Action-Man would've come up here? No, he'd be back home with his cronies in Tijuana." This conference was held shortly before the Senate is expected to vote on funding for the wall.

WALL-FUNDING FALLS SHORT OF MAJORITY IN THE SENATE

WASHINGTON D.C. - The government will not continue to fund the border wall into the year 1975, as the vote fell short of the 60 votes needed for a majority. President Wallace is most likely to veto this measure and demand a new vote.

MODERATE SENATORS WILLING TO COMPROMISE ON BORDER SECURITY

WASHINGTON D.C. - Pictured above is Senator Robert Stafford, a Republican of Vermont who voted against funding a border wall through the year 1975. Senator Stafford, as well as Senators Abraham Ribicoff; a Democrat of Connecticut, Quentin Burdick; a Democrat of North Dakota, and William Saxbe; a Republican of Ohio, met with the President. During the meeting, the Senators compromised that instead of funding a wall, an electric barbed-wire fence be built around the border of the United States and Mexico. When asked by reporters, Senator Ribicoff stated that the President seemed "reluctant, but still willing to compromise".

HUMPHREY: "WE BUILD BRIDGES, NOTHING ELSE"

EL PASO, TEXAS - Senators Hubert Humphrey (D-MN), George McGovern (D-SD), and Walter Mondale (D-MN), are pictured above meeting with local Democratic officials for a speech. During the speech, Senator Humphrey stated that "we build bridges, with Mexico, nothing else, not walls, not fences, only bridges," when asked if they were going to attempt to filibuster the bill, Senator Mondale stated, "we don't plan to, but we might, depending on the amount of money that the President is requesting."

I wonder if CA Governor Ronald Reagan (R) runs in 1976.

Moonbeam becomes Governor in 1974.
