Senator Mazie Hirono is running uncontested in the Democratic primary, but a large field of Republicans are running in the primary for a chance to take her on in the general election. The only notably Republican is perennial candidate is Rocky De La Fuente, who is also running for the Senate in multiple other states this year.

If anybody wants to check out a great read about Hirono's extensive and interesting political journey, the Honolul Magazine wrote an article called "Political Survivor: A Closer Look at Hawaiʻi’s First Female Senator, Mazie Hirono"

Rocky de la Fuente filed to run in at least a half dozen Senate races this year, including Wyoming and Vermont.

One ran in California (Patrick Little), a diverse state where Trump even lost the white vote. Nazi Russell Walker (R-NC) is running in a diverse district in North Carolina.

Is Hawai'i the most diverse or just the least white?

The most diverse. Asians, the plurality, are still only around 40% of the population. Hawaii also has a hefty Native Hawaiian & Hispanic population as well.
