Trump really doesn't want a Congress at all.

I have no idea what Trump wants, but if his goal is to maximize his chances for re-election, he should want a Democratic House. He's much better as an agitator than as a law-passer, and with Democrats in charge of at least one chamber of Congress he can semi-creditably blame all of his problems on Democratic obstructionism. Given that Republicans are fairly unlikely to pass much legislation going forward anyway, I actually wonder if they would be best off losing the House but keeping control of the Senate (so that they can still approve Trump's nominees).

I see the point about a Democratic House providing oversight, and I do think that they could cause a lot of headaches for Trump. But I highly doubt that Trump will leave office through impeachment before the 2020 election, and I don't think a Democratic House would be able to do all that much to damage his re-election hopes. I also think that dismissing Mueller would be extremely damaging to his campaign, maybe even moreso than anything Mueller finds.

Well Bill Clinton and Barack Obama won because they were also more charismatic and popular than their rivals, not just because they campaigned against a GOP congress that was strangling their agendas.

At one time I might have agreed with this, but not now.  Unless, of course, he really wants to quit and a Democratic Congress would give him an out for him to resign.  I once thought people were right about suggesting this, but not now.

He may bumble his way into it, but it will not be the result of his choice. Stormy as his relationships have been with Republican majorities, just imagine what Democratic majorities will be like for him!

No he wants the GOP to retain of course. It’s just his lack of self control that’s obviously hurting him and his party.

Maybe the Orange Clown will sign a minimum wage increase bill if Democrats take back control? Dubya signed a minimum wage increase in 2007 after the Democratic House and Senate passed it. Outside of the hard line Libertarian and Freedom caucus nuts, minimum wage increases are extremely popular. Even the deplorables could get behind it.
