While you're largely correct in this observation, since McInnes is, basically, a nobody, there is also a relevancy of the message he's conveying. The core of the #MAGA movement is about not only preserving but also forcefully reasserting the privileges possessed and employed by America's privileged citizens (legal citizens over the undocumented, Whites over minorities, straight and cisgender over LGBTQ, etc...).
