I don't know if this has been done before, but I do know that Eisenhower would unlikely run for a third term had the 22nd Amendment not been passed. But what if he did? How would he do against John F. Kennedy? Here's what I'm thinking

President Dwight D. Eisenhower (R-PA)/Vice President Richard Nixon (R-CA): 390 EV
Senator John F. Kennedy (D-MA)/Senator Lyndon B. Johnson (D-TX): 139 EV
Unpledged: 8 EV

I can see JFK winning NY, CT, MD (and still losing TN), but otherwise looks about right. For JFK to win, he’d probably have to win PA and one of CA or IL on top of that. That would be the “easiest” path, at least. Since he barely beat Nixon, seems unlikely against Ike.
