In this scenario the red wave of 2014 is not as big as in real life and the Republicans narrowly take back the Senate, while the Democrats make up some ground in governorships.

In the Senate, Democrats hold Alaska, Iowa, Louisiana and North Carolina, plus gain Kentucky (largely due to McConnell's personal unpopularity more than a building GOP wave)

In Governor's mansions, Democrats pick up Florida, Michigan, Kansas, Pennsylvania (as IRL), Maine and Georgia, while losing Arkansas.
