I'm not surprised. Narcissist trump demanded that he have a "huge" crowd (to match his ego) and probably forced all these interns/staffers to be at his phony gathering.

I wish his staffers would just spare us (and themselves) the tantrums by putting mannequins or cardboard cutouts in the back of his crowds. I don't mind my tax money going to that if it makes our President feel less insecure and shut the hell up for once. It's the least they could do.

My best guess is that there were probably low double digits planning to go, but the Eagles didn't want to make it look that low so the organization probably tried to pass it off as a different sort of event with Foles and Pederson (the one other player was probably Wentz given his high profile and that he has been publicly identified as a conservative in a few places), so it wouldn't quite look like a mass boycott.  Then, Trump said it was unacceptable.  I fault both sides, and it's disappointing because I like both parties to this dispute.
