How disrespectful. She chose this life. End of the story. I don't buy into the hooker with a heart of gold crap.

I know it hurts your soul every time Dear Leader is insulted in any way, shape, or form.

Donald Trump is the one who had an affair and raw-dogged the porn star right after Melania had given birth. Trump has only himself to blame for the fact that everyone now knows he has a small mushroom penis

I'd really like someone to explain to me why It's morally wrong for a married man to sleep with an unmarried woman, but why the unmarried woman has no moral culpability in sleeping with a man she knows is married.
I'd like to know why you seemingly fail to see that there is a difference?

One person is the one who is married. He is the one with the moral obligation to his wife. He is the one who has made a vow to her.

The other person is not married. She does not have a particular moral obligation to another persons wife with whom she has no relationship whatsoever. Does she have some moral obligation? Sure. She knows that she is enabling a cheater. Is it in any way comparable to the moral obligation of the cheating husband? Of course not.

I've never said Trump wasn't wrong.  Of course he was on this.

I'm responding to those who imply that he's the only one wrong in this situation.  And, let's face it; Stormy Daniels was only interested in Trump because he was/is rich AND famous.

The difference is that Americans don’t have a reason to care what choices Stormy Daniels makes, but Trump is our President.

True enough.  But Stormy Daniels happened almost a decade before Trump took office.

I certainly think that the American People ought to refuse to be neutral on the issue of adultery, because of its destructive effects on the stability of the institution of family.  In that, I grant you that Trump has been part of the problem, and isn't really in a position to be part of the solution.

She does, is the answer.

Umm, so apparently you agree with him, so why are you getting on his case for raising that question? Wink

Donald Trump and his small mushroom penis was actively involved in violating campaign finance rules as was named as a co-conspirator when Michael Cohen pleaded guilty.

This wasn't a decade before the election. This was occurring right before the election.

As a voter and a U.S. citizen, you *should* be upset at Donald Trump for actively hiding this sort of information from the public and willing to implicate himself in crimes in order to do so.

For the affair itself, at a bare minimum this only serves to embarrass the United States. Trump has nobody to blame but himself.

What I see in this story is a) a lot of salacious interest and b) repulsion that Trump cheated on his wife with Stormy right after she gave birth to their son, which is a pretty extreme form for adultery to take. There's also c) the campaign finance implications that Cohen pled guilty to. I don't think there's more than that and it doesn't tell people much they didn't already know or suspect about Trump. Whether Stormy Daniels is a moral person hardly matters in a world where the party that prides itself on upholding morality in government has unequivocally surrendered its banner in exchange for Trump's power.

It has no impact on his presidency (which is a disaster in and of itself), but it speaks volumes about his character and integrity and morality, things Republicans like to take the high ground on and shove in everyone's faces.  With Trump, they can't claim the high ground anymore, and with unwavering support of the man, they can never again claim the high ground on issues of character, integrity, or morality.

Now her pay off right before the election, indeed in an effort to sway the election, is another issue entirely and one which very well impacts his presidency.

Where are you reading that trump is "the only one wrong in this situation." There is nothing like that in the quote above. It simply says that that trump has only himself to blame, which means that he needs to take responsibility for his adulterous actions. He had complete control over saying "No, I'm not going to do this," but he didn't and now he is in this "pickle."

Well, of course, Trump has no one but himself to blame for being IN the situation.

I won't even have coffee with a noted porn star.  For a guy who's big on "branding", Trump doesn't seem to understand how it's important to appear to be doing the right thing as well as actually doing it.

Also, Trump himself is the only person to be ashamed of in this case.  Stormy was just doing a job (literally and figuratively), and Trump is the only one at fault here.  And all while his wife had just given birth to his son!  That's the kicker for me, tbh.

She knew he was married and went ahead with their affair anyway, apparently.

Does that fact place ANY moral responsibility on a person; to not have sex with a married person, even if that person consents?  Of course Trump is wrong here, but to say he's the only one to be ashamed is more than ridiculous.

I will also note that this affair occurred long before he was President.  That doesn't make it right, but it doesn't affect my view of him as President.  I suppose he's given me more than enough to chew on there, however.

Sure, Daniels is partially at fault. However, her fault pales in comparison to Trump's. HE'S the one that took that oath in church (I wont' say "before God", because we all know the only two gods Trump recognizes and worships is Mammon and himself). HE'S the one who cheated on his pregnant wife. HE'S the one who didn't care how his kids would react if and when they found out. HE'S the one whom (presumably) lied to his wife about his activities.

Yeah I think you guys are minimizing her moral culpability here. If you knowingly engage in acts that could break up a family, that's some seriously effed up sh**t, even if this person you're doing that with has more culpability.

She's a porn star.

Her profession is to literally have sex for money.

Her morals are already pretty low.  No one is saying she's some innocent girl that Trump took advantage of.

Stormy Daniels has never sought political office.  She is not the President of the United States.  She has never (to my knowledge) claimed to be morally superior in the way Trump has definitely claimed to be.  She's never pretended to be all sweet and charming and like she did no wrong.  Her job actually comes with it an implication of immorality; Trump's job implicitly comes with it a sense of respectability and righteousness.

The President of the United States is supposed to be a moral person with good insight, good intuition, good character.  I'm not saying we've never had a president who was none of those things, we certainly have, and we have one right now...that's why we're calling him out for it.

This really shouldn't be that hard to understand.

I don't think being a porn star or having sex for money is immoral, so that argument says nothing to me.

Yeah Trump is a pos, not arguing with that. It's still a highly immoral thing she did here.

Oh I don't know, maybe if it was a more widely held belief that both the cheater and the mistress are acting despicably there would be less cheating all around.

I think you're mistakenly assuming people's special attention to what this incident says about our President applies to cases where neither person is a famous elected official. I don't see any lack of opprobium for mistresses in U.S. culture.

But for the reasons I posted above--that is, Trump was the one who violated his own vows of fidelity--her fault pales in comparison.

Besides, as Brittain points out, what does her "fault" matter?

Only in that several here seemed to be minimizing the degree to which she was morally culpable, when I think what she did was terrible. It is not important in and of itself as a national news story, sure.
