Well, obviously. Cancer aside, the guy would/will be 86 on election day 2022. What I'd like to know is if McCain will return to the Senate to cast votes eventually, or if he's simply serving as a placeholder until McConnell says he can resign.

In all seriousness, he has definitely been a consequential member of the Senate, and he is also one of the Republicans who I am still able to respect, even if I often don't agree with him on policy.
