What if Hillary, dissatisfied with the Democrat's choice of Barack Obama, decided to run as a third party candidate?
Same events such as the Iraq war and recession still occur.

Obama ether wins very narrowly or loses due to vote splitting.

Maybe something like this (I assume that Hillary Clinton would pick Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen as her running mate in this scenario)?

Senator John McCain (R-AZ)/Governor Sarah Palin (R-AK): 312 EVs (46%)
Senator Barack Obama (D-IL)/Senator Joe Biden (D-DE): 187 EVs (38%)
Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY)/Governor Phil Bredesen (D-TN): 39 EVs (15%)
Others: 0 EVs (1%)
