Welp, guess it had to happen eventually.
When I first created an account on uselectionatlas.org/FORUM, I was a clueless, socially awkward high schooler aimlessly stumbling through life. Now I'm a clueless, socially awkward PhD student aimlessly stumbling through life. Guess some things never change.
But others have: I learned all the gory, terrifying minutiae of US politics. I stopped being ashamed of calling myself a socialist. I learned to write and speak proper English, and to manage everyday life in the US. I gained self-confidence while losing some undeserved prides I had. And above all, I made some great friends both on here and elsewhere.
If I could go back... well, tbh, there's a
lot I would do differently, but there's also a lot I would do just the same. And overall, I think I'm better off for my time here. So thanks to all those who made that time worthwhile.
