Cities generate much of the revenue that goes into statewide accounts and that money gets distributed to more Republican areas. I'd wager that Baltimore puts in more money than it gets back and rural Maryland gets back more than it puts in. Just a guess.

This is because the democrats non stop have run Baltimore for 80 years. Congrats democrats you have ruined Chicago-Detroit-Baltimore. Every city in state needs at some point change.

That's some cutting edge analysis you got there.
You don’t find it odd that the most dangerous and poorest cities are all run by democrats for generations?
Oh right, its because the Democrats run the government, not because all the affluent people moved to the suburbs after WW2, cratering the tax base and pulling funds from the schools. It's not because the state government often ignores cities in favor of the suburbs. And it's not because Republicans use the city as a punching bag each time they take office. It's because the city government is controlled by Democrats, most of whom have little power over the majority of the city's spending... which comes from the state government.
I say give the republicans control of Detroit-Chicago-Baltimore and Hartford for 10 years. Let’s see what happens because the leadership in these disgusting cities isn’t working. Also I have been all over Connecticut Hartford is ranked has the 19th most dangerous city America and it hasn’t voted republican since 1924.

Greedo, I know you're young (not that you're so young as to be completely excused, imo), but at times you display a stunning lack of intellectual curiosity. You don't even attempt to understand the problems or the nuances of the situation.

Again I have been all over Hartford my aunt lives 20 minutes from Hartford it’s awful and decreasing population it’s the poorest city in America. It’s awful but I think if republicans got a chance to run it things would be better.

The emergency manager scheme in Michigan shows just how good Republicans are at running urban areas. Look at what happened in Flint.

What, perhaps bring some of that Kansas magic there and drive it into bankruptcy? You ignore all the Republican-controlled regions that suffer from their own extreme poverty, not including Republican-controlled states that were doing OK only to be crippled by awful Republican economic policy.

Again, like I said, you make no attempt to actually try and understand what is going on. You don't even attempt to explain what you think Republicans would do that would make things so much better.

You'll get a lot more dumping in the streets and waiting in lines under socialized.

Do you have proof of such dumping of patients by hospitals to an equal or greater extent in countries such as the UK, Canada, Sweden, et al...? As for waiting lines, perhaps if you have money and good health insurance in America your wait time may increase under socialized medicine, but every system rations care; some by spreading it out among everyone to an equal or nearly equal amount (longer waits) and others by denying all but emergency care (for stabilization purposes only), such as America. I know which I'd prefer, considering my family and I have spent our whole lives without insurance.

From what I have heard is Sam brownback was betrayed by half the Republican Party. But on Oklahoma I do agree Mary fallin has awful and she is responsible for the losses at the ballot box in 2017.

That's objectively false, but don't get international statistics get in the way of a good talking point!

Aren't most Republican areas in Maryland pretty wealthy too? And Republican areas being poorer than Democratic areas doesn't necessarily mean Republican voters are poorer.

This is absolutely terrible (aren't those guards human or so?), but I don't really think this is a reason to nationalize the healthcare industry tbh. It can be solved in a different way. Tougher regulations (and generous refundable tax credits) definitely are necessary, but let's not overthrow capitalism over this lol.

I'm just expressing my "American right to speak," by saying that you are acting like an assh*le.

This does not surprise me. While my mother was well enough to have her clothing and we had a car, the equivalent of this was done to her several times because of her lack of insurance due to preexisting conditions. It wasn't until she was so bad that she had to be evacuated by helicopter to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester that they stopped turning her out of the hospital. She ended up spending three months in the hospital, much of that being very touch and go. If they had done their due diligence the first time she went, it never would have ended up as such an expensive endeavor.

It's awful and wrong, but it doesn't surprise me. This is why I am in favor of single payer healthcare. As it stands, patients only need to be "stable" to be released. Stable doesn't mean well, and too many people are forced out because they don't have insurance or can't afford the bills. Then they just get worse until it's catastrophic and everyone else has to pay for it anyway. So let's give people the care they need and do it before it becomes catastrophic. The ACA helped (my mom passed just before the ACA rolled out), but there are still gaps. Single payer is the most compassionate option.

That would be common sense and  require long term thinking. There is too much stupidity and selfishness at work to do either.
