You know, my view of equality is when you can really detest someone and no one assumes that it's because of that person's race, gender, or sexual orientation, but due to the noxious content of that Horrible Person's character.  The way Germans hate on Guido Westerwelle and how it has nothing to do with his gayness is a great sign that we're almost there.
