Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley is a young Missouri conservative. Young, handsome, well-spoken. If Josh Hawley beats Sen. Claire McCaskill in 2018 will he be seen as a future Republican presidential contender in the 2020s, especially if Gov. Eric Greitens political career is over?

I think he's basically a more attractive Ted Cruz [not hard to do that]. If he loses this race, I think he's basically finished, because Missouri is a state with a lot of Republican talent, and it would be difficult for him to win a Republican primary against other candidates (for governor in 2020, for example.)

Right. Lincoln lost a race when Senators were not even popularly elected. If they were popularly elected, Lincoln likely would have won.

How about Alan Keyes and Carly Fiorina? They ran for President; you didn't say successful contenders.
