Trump Logic:

Economy Doing Well: "My reforms have lead to great economic growth."
Economy Doing Poorly: "I inherited this terrible economy from Obama, but don't worry because it's gonna be great!"

Wait, so you're saying this is Obama's good economy but Trump's fault with regard to homelessness?

Wait, so you're saying this is Obama's good economy but Trump's fault with regard to homelessness?

1. Things Trump cite, like jobs added and stock market going up, are following the trend from the Obama years. This on the other hand is a reversal from what happened under Obama.

2. Some things can be quickly affected by police (homelessness) some things are more dependent on fundamentals (overall state of economy).

For both those reasons some things can be attributed to Trump more plausibly than others.

To answer your question, yes. That is what they're saying.

The "housing market" is "back".

What that really means is that housing values are now out of proportion to wages.  The drop in housing prices in 2007 and 2008 was a correction.  Now, we're back to overpriced houses and gimmicky mortgages to make folks able to buy them.

We also have fewer rental homes in many places, which drives up the cost of rentals.
