I don't agree with what he said (assuming it was a serious comment), but he's put out some pretty funny press releases in the past. Either that or he's so senile that his staffers just get away with it.

Reagan and HW were so much better than Trump that its an insult to them to compare Trump with with them.

The reason I think Trump is significantly worse than those presidents are he is a far worse human being then any of them , he is extremely incompetent , and he's stupid(Reagan and HW were smart ) .

HW was competent...I will give you that. But Reagan was incompetent. His entire presidency was one long infomercial presenting a phony image of a man who never read memos and napped all day. His presidency was run by his cabinet who unlike Trump's were competent but the most corrupt in history.

- Reagan reformed the tax code more comprehensively then any President since at least the 1930s

- Reagan significantly reduced the amount of regulations which existed before the 1980s

-  16 million jobs created, Inflation Cut Dramatically , Median Income Went UP

 - His economic policies dramatically increased the amount of money people invested in the economy(thus growing it)

- Reduced the influence of too powerful public sector unions

- Reversed the growth of Communism in the 3rd world

- The INF Treaty

- Started the trend of bringing high skilled immigrants into the US

Most of those are terrible things. One has to really stupid to argue about cutting environmental regulations. The Ozone Layer Depletion happened & Reagan did nothing. He gut the power of the unions & now workers have no payer & has seen real wages decline, jobs have left US & Minimum Wage has fallen in real $ terms. And then there is PNTR with China during Reagan's term which has caused millions of jobs to go to China.

Reagan was terrible on Poverty. Reagan tripled the National Debt & sort of pushed the country into bankruptcy, doubled military spending or even more & cut taxes on the wealthy & put a range of payroll, gas etc taxes on the middle class.

Reagan is responsible for the destruction of the middle class. There has been no Single President who has declared a war on the Middle & Working Class dividing the country in abortion, gay marriage stoking bigotry & racial tensions like Reagan has. He wrote the Original Playbook & started Voodoo Economics.

Reagan's military policies have been vindicated over time.  He DID end the Cold War in our favor, and he wasn't constantly involving us in undeclared preemptive wars.

But you are correct on your comments regarding Reagan and the Middle Class.  But most of the war on the middle class was carried out by the Bushes, and, surprisingly, by Clinton.  Bill Clinton locked in the job losses to globalism, instead of resisting the trend.  Let's not forget that much of the 1994 Democratic debacle in the midterms was due to Clinton signing on to NAFTA and GATT.

The Poverty rate went up 1978-1983(And most of the increase happened from 1978-1981) , and then went down the rest of his presidency .
