Summary: The goal of this bill is to increase revenue for the Southern Region.

Section 1 ties hunting license fees, fishing license fees, and cabin rental fees to inflation.

Section 2 tasks the bureaucracy with selling 25% more timber on governmental land.

Section 3 increases several sin taxes by 10%

Section 4 authorizes a study to determine how much money would be saved if government-owned golf courses were privatized.

Section 5 transfers a piece of government-maintained property to a non-profit group that will maintain the land better.

Section 6 authorizes a study on  how much it would cost and how much revenue would be generated by creating a nuclear waste repository in Texas.

Section 7 repeals a State-specific sin tax.

Is there any program in place to plant new trees to replace the ones that were logged?

Not as part of this proposal, although I am certainly open to drafting some language on that.

OK that would be good, if we're going to increase logging I think it would be better to try to make it somewhat sustainable.

As the sponsor of this bill, I am voluntarily tabling it until we get closer to the budget process. I thought the budget data would be here by now, but with GM turnover there is a bit of an understandable delay. We can reopen debate on this bill once the data is available and we are ready for the budget.
