Solid Liberal, which isn't surprising, but I do agree that the test is too simplistic.

Market Skeptic Republican, though if I switched it to say I favor the Democrats right now it goes to Solid Liberal, so the test is really bunk.

Did you say you were an independent in that last question?

Anyway, guess which one I am? If you said anything other than Solid Liberal, you're wrong! Cheesy

Core Conservatives and Next Generation Enterprises still have a majority in the GOP. There still is hope Smiley (approving of Trump =/= being a Trumpist). And even the Country First Conservatives apparently are conservative on economic issues except trade (though support for spending cuts/not increasing spending more probably drops when you specify the question and name some examples).

Yes, I said Independent, picking being closer to a Republican gets you Market Skeptic, if you say Democrat you get Solid Liberal, or at least I did.

Was that test real? Most of the "conservative" choices sounded like strawman spoofs

But I answered one of those 'strawman' spoofs with a yes answer on the conservative side. Many of the corporations are such professional operations as medical and dental practices that need limited-liability protection in the case that someone gives the practice flawed supplies that result in injury or death to the patient.

Disaffected Dem, just as suspected. Although I do not share their pessimism.

it says I'm a core conservative, but there's no way. I'm #NeverTrump and consider myself a Cheney-esque neocon. Hmmmm.

I got Disaffected Democrat. I used to routinely get Solid Liberal on this test, but I changed my mind on a few questions.

Same thing happened with me, got devout and diverse if I said I favored Dems, got core conservative if I said I favored reps. Personally I'd say Enterpriser is the group that fits me best.

Your best fit is...
Country First Conservatives

Personally I think Market Skeptic is more fitting.

Market Skeptic Republicans
Critical of many major institutions and government, Market Skeptic Republicans mostly identify with, or lean toward, the GOP. They stand out from other Republican-oriented groups in their negative views of the economic system: An overwhelming majority say it “unfairly favors powerful interests.” Most also say businesses make too much profit, and they are the most likely Republican-leaning group to want to raise taxes on corporations (55%). They are similar to other GOP-leaning groups in their skepticism about the social safety net.

My results:

Solid Liberal. Highly educated and politically engaged, Solid Liberals hold consistently liberal values. They back a robust role for government and are strong advocates of the social safety net. Large majorities view the current economic system as unfair and see economic inequality as a major problem. They take broadly positive views of immigrants, and fully 99% think being open to people from around the world is an essential part of the nation’s identity. Most say more needs to be done to address both racial discrimination and obstacles to women’s achievement. They support same-sex marriage and believe homosexuality should be accepted by society. Solid Liberals are the most Democratic of all typology groups: nearly two-thirds (64%) identify as Democrats, another 35% lean toward the Democratic Party.

Got this too. Although I will mention I felt I was cornered to answer some of these questions in ways that weren't satisfactory. This test should have a bit more of complexity implemented into it to accommodate for more ideological diversity.

Generally sceptical of these typological tests. In the end the categories are somewhat arbitrary (got Disaffected Democrat btw).

None of these are really fitting but i took the test anyway.

I got Disaffected Democrat:

This majority-minority group mostly identifies as Democratic or leans toward the Democratic Party. Disaffected Democrats strongly believe the economic system unfairly favors powerful interests and that business corporations make too much profit. Relatively few believe their family has achieved the American Dream, and 24% believe it is out of reach for their family. Most say the government should do more to help the needy and that poor people have hard lives because government benefits do not go far enough to help them live decently. In contrast to other Democratic-oriented groups, a majority (63%) characterizes government as “almost always wasteful and inefficient.”

Which i guess is the closest possible category though with these types of tests there are often too vague and far reaching category's that are given as a choose.

I got Disaffected Democrat which is no surprise, but this test seemed too simple and didn't acknowledge any nuance in political views.

Have you ever found the perfect political typology test?

No.

And approving of Trump is no different than being a ‘Trumpist’, whatever that means.

Your best fit is...
Disaffected Democrats
along with 14% of the public.

In contrast to other Democratic-oriented groups, a majority (63%) characterizes government as “almost always wasteful and inefficient.”

Still, the binary choice isn't great. I'd prefer a few more options.

Poor.

There were a lot of questions where I did not agree with either of the two.

I ended up with 'core conservative', which is not a huge surprise given my background.

I got Core Conservative but the questions are pretty slanted without much nuance.
