This pass the torch talk needs to stop. You earn your way into the leadership, nobody hands you anything just because you are younger. Trying to trigger a leadership battle before a midterm is stupid.

The only person who needs to be retired is Paul Ryan and that is what Democrats need to be focused on.

"Look, things are s**ty and you all have to learn to deal with it." Wow it's like Nancy Pelosi herself is posting.

Yeah we should replace a very skilled, experienced and effective house party leader infrastructure because... they're old?

If you think you can do better, run for Congress and if you win, challenge Pelosi for the leadership. It's better than complaining about it on a message board that no one in Congress even reads.

Saying that in a conversation involving Pelosi is extremely ironic. From Wikipedia:

Yes that's it Roll Eyes. Maybe people are finally getting tired of losing to Republicans who are monsters. Also as the Right
Wing is welcomed with opened arms in the Republican party while Democrats spit in the face of their base. Maybe that has something to do with it as well.

It will likely be that Trump was biggest godsend to Pelosi ever.

Because if they win back the majority in 2018, she will likely remain Speaker for the duration of said majority or until carried out on a stretcher.

Huh

Why is the House leadership to blame for losing elections? That's on the DNC. We have zero reason to believe that if Pelosi and others are replaced that the Democrats will win more elections than usual. Pelosi and House leaders were able to consolidate a diverse coalition of blue dogs and progressives for financial reform, equal pay legislation and health care reform in a very brief window of time. That's not easy; look at how miserably bad Republicans in Congress are at doing this. Also, wake up: the Republicans are turning off their own base just as much as Democrats. Notice that the only Republican effort to make it through the House this past year was one of the most unpopular large pieces of legislation in American history, and that Republican efforts on tax reform are also not palatable to their base. And of course the fact that Schumer and Pelosi have found a way to drive wedges between Trump and Republicans on certain issues (DACA, debt ceiling) in ways that are pretty astonishing considering how little political capital they have right now.

Hoyer & Clyburn are probably worse than Pelosi. The last thing which should happen is for Pelosi to step down & one of these 2 to take over. The entire trio should go. It is long overdue.

Pelosi is a good speaker, I wouldn't mind her being speaker again but she has terrible approvals & is past her good days - She rambles on, is dull, uninspiring & offers little.

Pelosi, quite honestly, is just way too unpopular to be a leader of the Democratic Party honestly for much longer. Those #s speak very loud and clear. It's part of the reason why the Democratic Party is not looked as favorably as it could be. Surely, there are other people in the party who can lead just as well as, if not better than Pelosi without being seen as evil while being the minority party.

Between Linda Sanchez, Cheri Bustos, and Hakeem Jeffries, I think the Democrats have a solid build up once the top three are gone.
