It's really a moot point. Climate Change has already doomed the planet, so doing anything now is too little too late.

We don't know that. There will be a lot of change and it will likely be painful; but total devastation is an outside chance, and making changes might prevent it if we're on that track. Regardless of that, things will be less bad if we make changes than if we just throw up our hands and accept our fate like that.

It has a low range for semi-trucks, 200-300 miles, but would be ok to sell as a short haul truck. This is a good first step.

This would work well with a robust electrified high speed freight rail system.  They handle the long haul while electric trucks handle terminal to endpoint.  Efficient hybrid trucks could be used in remote areas.
