In June of 2005, Allen was a co-sponsor of a resolution that had the Senate formally apologize for never passing federal legislation against lynching despite nearly 5,000 deaths from this between 1882 and 1968. Discussing the resolution, Allen said in the Senate: "I rise today to offer a formal and heartfelt apology to all the victims of lynching in our history, and for the failure of the United States Senate to take action when action was most needed."[35]

Allen has joined calls for the Senate to consider an apology for slavery. However, in late May of 2006 he began to back away from the proposal, saying that "o far, we haven't seen much of a coalition of support for it

Well, Allen is a member of the CCC which is the modern version of a former White Supremecist organization.

There is no proof that Allen is a member of the CCC.

He co-sponsored a resolution condemning Lynchings!

Allen is a good guy, just too conservative for me. He would be a good chief executive, but i don't like his ideology.

Just wonder what is your ethnicty if you don't mind me asking? Also that thing with Allen in the CCC was a misunderstanding on his part of their true ideals since true conservatism doesn't espuse what they preach.

I believe Cynthia McKinney is a racist

McKinney along with Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson along with people like them are just embarrasments to many African Americans. There are many great African American politcans out there like Obama, Blackwell, Ford, and Swann.

Blackwell is a good guy, but he is a far-right extremist. Swann has NO experience.

Obama is great! Ford is fantastic, Condoleezza is very honorable. 

I forgot about conde I hear from people I know who met her tell me she's presidental materal. So let's all kept an eye out come for her 08!

Perhaps Allen isn't a racist.  Having a confederate flag hardly qualifies one as being a racist.  However, he has certainly done some things in the past that, like it or not, have alienated members of minority groups.  Personally, I don't think he's a racist, but he is a bully of the high school football jock variety.  Like the president, he has successfully manufactured an image as a down-home Southern good ol' boy despite being neither from Virginia nor the South.

He speaks out for an apology for LYNCHING!!!! Yeah... nobody is saying he's a cold blooded killer.

Ignorant does not equal racist. Racist actually requires cogent thought.
