Joe Rogan endorsed Ron Paul as the best republican candidate, not because he would vote for him over Obama.

Joe Rogan endorsed Ron Paul as the best republican candidate, not because he would vote for him over Obama.
This is the worst defense I’ve ever heard.

Quote
Rogan appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno a short time later, joining Leno's other guest: Ron Paul. When Rogan came out wearing a Ron Paul shirt, he seemed almost starstruck, saying he was a "huge Ron Paul fan." When Leno asked him what exactly about Ron Paul he agreed with, Rogan responded with, "Every single thing that comes out his mouth. ... Everything he says."

Rogan never endorsed Obama, and he defiantly endorsed Johnson over Stein and Clinton. I really don’t think you have much of a point here.

Nothing will happen. I guarantee you no more than .01% of the population has watched an entire episode of his podcast.

Presumably you mean the global population? Because otherwise the numbers are competitive with any news network, and with its estimate penetration, it is similar to saying Fox News doesn't matter. (Admittedly, less of its listeners are registered voters tuning in for political persuasion. But could it cause 15-20k to turn out that wouldn't otherwise consider voting? That's rather significant sway for a single individual.) So, you are right, it won't change the primary results. But barring an Obama endorsement, no one's endorsement would move the needle much more than that.

I have never had a desire to listen to this type of podcast or even research what it is, but many of my - errr - less desirable co-workers can often be overheard discussing it and their odd newfound affection for anti-establishment politics. Don't underestimate it.

It was a very loose estimate of listeners in the U.S.

You get my point.

Putting this here because, yes, Rogan thinks Trump is a viable option over other Democrats.

Oops. Miss Thing is trying to play games here and that's what I figured was up. Not every endorsement you get is a good one.

Great to see that Bernie Sanders is winning over potential Trump voters!

Not really but it's stupid pandering to people who will never vote for him

No. If anything it will HELP him reach a larger audience. No one cares about this except people who were already voting against Bernie.

Trump voters are not flipping. Period.
Maybe the progressives should stop alienating moderates?

Progressives are the same breed as the alt-right loons. They have the same end game with regards to politics. No surprise they want to build a coalition together instead of compromising with true Blue and Blue Democrats such as myself and 65 million Hillary Clinton supporters.

Maybe because Hillary Clinton supporters have spouted lie after lie about him?

"He never endorsed her!"

"He never campaigned for her!"

"He's the one doing the sniping!"

And finally, my absolutely favourite criticism of him, mainly because of its sheer Orwellian nature: "He's not allowed to criticise the Party!"

Literally nobody has said any of that stuff.  You just live in a fantasy world where we're all saying outlandish things, so you don't have to engage with the real substantial criticisms that myself, Hillary Clinton, or anyone else is leveling at him.

Here's the actual criticism of Sanders behavior in the 2016 general:  https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=354294.0
try responding to that instead of things nobody has ever said.  "He never endorsed her" give me a break.

Oh please. Every time Sanders has said something about another candidate, you decry him as the worst person alive but when Hillary snipes at him, you defend her.

Get over it.

I'm getting trolly vibes from this thread even if the thread I guess is legitimate. Keep things clean in here please or this will be locked.

I was just going to clean up the above exchange but actually given the circumstances, I think we've reached that point where a lock is warranted at least for now. Let me know if there's anything actually related to the actual original topic that warrants discussion and I can re-open it.

The discussion is now basically rehashing the same talking points that have been repeated ever since I started lurking the forum during the 2016 cycle. This isn't the thread to do this. At least the first few pages actually analyzed Rogan's record for the most part which is on topic.
