This actually is widely known.
The term "clean coal" was only invented to fool the ignorant segment of our nation ..... and did the hardcore trump supporters lap-it-up ..... oh, you bet !

In theory, there could be clean coal, but right now even without carbon capture, coal's more expensive than natural gas, so there's no way it can be economic. The only way coal could be revived in even the medium term would be to ban fracking.

Probably the worst part of "clean coal" is that carbon capture and storage needs to be a big component of our AGW-fighting arsenal, and this is one of the most inefficient ways to implement it.

And the Pope is Catholic. Of course clean coal is a myth. At this point given climate change we need to deal with the issue and find market friendly ways to transition our economy over.

Convince your party of that, then.

My party will change. Or events will force us to. It's a question of which, not if. My Republican Party should definitely get ahead of the Left and write up a carbon tax that's refundable to small businesses and tax payers in full (no net revenue to the government) and drastically rewrite the EPA and environmental regulations accordingly.
