Maybe it is because there is proper sex education here in California, not the abstinence only garbage that you see in many other parts of the US. Proper sex ed (and the availability of birth control) leads to fewer unwanted pregnancies, which, in turn, leads to fewer abortions...

The article states that only 3 planned parenthood clinics in California are closing and that is it's due to a lack of patients since people have access to other local health clinics. So, it's not simply due to any hostility towards planned parenthood, but rather greater access to preventative care options in these California communities. That sounds like a good thing to me.

Also the vast majority of the business Planned Parenthood does is not abortion...rather it prevents abortions.
