What are the mainstream equivalents of Christian artists? Here are a few I determined.

Disciple - Three Days Grace
NF (although technically not a Christian artist) - Eminem
Bride - Guns N' Roses
Sanctus Real - Coldplay
MercyMe - I have a hard time with this one. The Beatles might be the closest, except MercyMe is better.

Bride?  Are they still around?
Most of the CCM I know of is stuff from 15+ years ago.  I have only heard a little from MercyMe and they sound nothing like the Beatles.  PFR and late 80s-90s Phil Keaggy are Beatlesque, but I don't know of any newer artists that have that sound.

Random question that is only partially on-topic: Why is Chris Tomlin so popular? All of my friends who listen to Christian rock (which is admittedly maybe 5 people) like him, but to me his music all sounds like pretty generic soft pop.

I listen to his hits on some rare occasions, but aside from that, none of his songs sound different from each other. His popularity baffles me as well.

Bride recently retired.
I mostly said the Beatles because MercyMe dabbles in many different genres like the Beatles, and every album they release is a big event in Christian music, like the Beatles. Plus, the character of Mr Lovewell from The Generous Mr Lovewell is inspired by Sgt Pepper. I don't really know of a band that's stylistically similar to MercyMe. I was hoping y'all could help me with that.

He's about as generic as it comes, at least >95% of the time. I feel like he's the post-SAJ equivalent of Maroon 5 or something. His songs are super simple, repetitive, and easy for Protestants to sing at crappy praise sessions. He does very rarely put out something slightly better, and he does collaborate with better artists every once in a while.

just listened to the Mr Lovewell song and yes there is definitely some Beatles/ELO influence though I haven't heard it in their other songs.
