He won't make it to the primaries. Republicans always remember him as the guy who brought an economic plague on the state.

You must be confusing McCrory with Bev Perdue.

I don't disagree with the economics impacts of HB2, but had the Gubernatorial race turned on the economic situation, McCrory would have won a landslide reelection victory. Of course there were a lot of policies I disagreed with in terms of the state legislature, which I would note is still present in NC and still has the upper hand in governing NC because of its large majorities. The simple fact is that McCrory took the fall for the State legislature's extremism, and that State legislature is still in power with the same leadership (minus Tillis of course) who have dominated state politics since 2011 (regardless of who has been Governor).

Dan Forest would be a decent potential candidate.
