1) Not very surprising.

2) Trump supporters won't care because "all politicians lie"/"Washington Post is fake news".

Not only does the Jeff Bezos Blog publish fake news but it has just about the worst record in media for publishing fake news stories to attack Trump. To quote it fact checking the President is hilariously ironic.

Mostly from social media these days. Thing is finding good social media accounts to read for news and identifying bad ones to ignore. In all cases however a degree of scepticism and critical examination of the evidence presented to back up a story is important.

The Jeff Bezos Blog has been caught time after time publishing fake news stories attacking Trump.

Just to give you an idea here's a detailed examination of one of their fake news stories and their deliberate dishonesty in producing it

Says the guy who literally refers to Breitbart and InfoWars as reliable sources. Pete, why do you even bother saying this stuff here? The only people who might agree with you are people who already think like this (aka some of your fellow Trump supporters, most likely). Otherwise, no one else is buying your diatribes about the "fake" media. I can't really speak for others, but you just look silly sitting there acting like any of this is penetrating beyond the skull.

Actually his fellow True Trumpers (I don't include generic Republican supporters) have been very scarce since the Ten Day Crisis (still finding a good name). A number of people like Santander and MT Treasurer left the Trump train. On balance there's much fewer Trump people than during the election.

The usual True Trump figures (Sanchez, Grumps, Klartext) have all been quiet in their defenses. I don't think they could defend the last ten days anyway.

So EnglishPete is out here defending the GE with increasing shrillness.

Fake news is a serious problem with today's news media.

Social media is sketchy for me though. I stick with Paul Joseph Watson and Alex Jones to get me news.

You don't win elections by being factual. You win elections by mastering the art of persuasion and narrative setting. Those often require ditching the truth.

There's a difference between stretching the truth and straight up lying and conspiracy mongering. Trump was partial to the latter during the 2016 campaign and now during his tenure as President.

It's despicable and toxic to public discourse.
