Yeah, I reported this in the PR statehood referendum post, but it makes sense to have it here too. Congress refused to prevent this situation and is now turning their heads, acting as if this didn't happen. They don't care, and the referendum on statehood might just turn into a referendum on independence.

It's obvious that Republicans don't care or acknowledge that Puerto Ricans are American Citizens. Wonder why that is?

I'd say no chance, but he did (ostensibly) manage a golf course there. He drove it into the ground and bankruptcy while pocketing management fees. Since he doubtless talks about this as a "great deal" (and not the mediocre long con in billionaire drag it actually was) he may recall something about Puerto Rico's actual status by association.
