Good evening, and welcome to election night 2016. Before we being here this evening, let's give some summary of the past year and a half. Pundits were shocked this election when Donald Trump took control of the Republican party, Hillary Clinton defeated Bernie Sanders in the primary, and most surprisingly, in a last minute move, former Representative Ron Paul ran for the libertarian nomination, and selected Senator Mike Lee of Utah as his running mate. Thanks to name recognition, many gaffes, and scandals, Paul made it to the last two debates, and is currently polling around 20%. On the Green party's side, Jill Stein and William Kreml are running, and some former Sanders support her, but she has not made traction in the polls. It will prove to be an interesting evening.

Our first states reporting are Indiana and Kentucky, and Indiana is too early to call, and Kentucky and its 8EVs will go for Donald Trump and his running mate Chris Christie.

Good evening, and welcome back to election coverage for the 2016 election, we have some election results for you this evening now that the polls have closed in a few more states. Indiana's governor race is too close to call, with Mike Pence being unpopular, and Superintendent Glenda Ritz being gaffe prone, Libertarian Rex Bell has made this a three way race thanks to Ron Paul polling well. So that race is too close to call. In the Senate race, it is a Republican Hold, thanks to Rep. Marlin Stutzman winning against Rep. Baron Hill. In Kentucky, Rand Paul has held his Senate Seat. The other Senate races are too early to call at this point.

New Hampshire and Georgia are too early to call for the presidential race, but South Carolina and West Virginia go to Donald Trump, and Vermont to Hillary Clinton.

Kentucky probably would be a Paul state.  It's already got a libertarian streak (relative to the rest of the South) and Ron's son would be on the ballot as well.

That, and I can't imagine many Trump/Rand voters.

Ron Paul at 20% and made two debates?! I like this timeline more than real life.

Welcome back all, we have a lot more results as of right now, Indiana is still too close to call, but Donald Trump has secured the states of Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama. Hillary Clinton has claimed D.C., Maryland, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. All other states are too early to call.
Here is the current map, as of right now.

Wait, we are getting word that the state of Maine, and its 2nd congressional district, and New Hampshire are being called... for Congressman Paul, this is history folks, the first electoral votes to go to a third party since George Wallace in 1968. The first CD in Maine goes to Hillary Clinton.

I like how this is going. I wonder if it is a possibility that no one gets a majority.

IT'S BACK AND SO AM I.
Reports of my death are greatly exaggerated, and I hope to continue this and another TL I have in the works. So without further ado...

Welcome back to Election Night 2016 after our long commercial break. We have some updates here in the Midwest. Oklahoma's polls have closed and despite being close to Congressman Paul's home state of Texas, and one of his endorsers, Ted Cruz, it has gone to Donald Trump this evening. Well this wasn't too expected as their governor was a big supporter of Trump throughout the race. All other races are still too close to call.

Here's a surprise folks, exit polling has Donald Trump ahead in Pennsylvania, as Jill Stein campaigned pretty hard there, and other blue collar areas, as well as university campuses. New Jersey is also close for that same reason, and it will be interesting to see how that plays out in Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and Minnesota. The Rust Belt will be interesting to watch tonight. Well, to be perfectly frank this entire election is going to be interesting to watch, as much of Ron Paul's support comes from the Plains and the West, him winning in New England was a surprise to everyone.
His support is from social liberals and fiscal conservatives in the Republican Party unhappy with Trump's views, and his character, as well as many youth Republicans. Lets go to a clip from the Third Debate a few weeks ago that garnered a lot of support for his cause, this one on the issue of drug legalization.

"Now my two opponents have been lifetime supporters of increased spending to the War on Drugs, something I have been against since the day Richard Nixon announced he was cracking down on uses of these substances. We have seen deaths, overcrowded prisons, and increased costs of prisons, all of which have had no impact on drug use in this country. As a doctor and a parent and grandparent I don't think people using these drugs as wise, but sending SWAT teams to arrest someone smoking pot in their living room has only led to families being broken apart, lives lost, and the inability for these people to get jobs after their term is up. Drug addiction is a health problem, not a criminal one, and should be treated as such. The federal government needs a complete overhaul in scheduling drugs as safe and unsafe."

That debate was a real breakthrough for the Paul campaign, showing a poise and a touch to the everyday person that neither Hillary Clinton could match. We could see our first election in our lifetime that goes to the House of Representatives. That's true, and with Bernie Sanders refusing to endorse Clinton after the leaks of the Clinton campaign colluding with DNC, many young voters ran to Stein or Paul. Looks like we have some updates folks, lets see the map.

Certainly a bit of a surprise Congressman Paul doing this well, but these are low population states, so his campaign could focus more easily there. Looks like we have some states to call, and I have to say any chance for Clinton to steal the south from Trump is long gone other than Virginia or North Carolina perhaps. Other odd factor is Ohio, and the fact it is currently closer than Pennsylvania, where Donald Trump leads by slim margins. Anyway, here is the updated map.
