So I read something interesting the other day, and I was curious of the collective Atlas opinion:

http://www.dailykos.com/stories/2017/2/20/1636027/-Anti-Trump-anger-has-prompted-a-surge-in-resistance-to-New-York-s-GOP-enabling-IDC-Democrats

At least taken at face value, this idea does seem to hold some water. Democrats will be under increasing pressure to vehemently oppose Trump and his party, and naturally that would make "Independent Democrats" who caucus with Republicans more vulnerable.

With this in mind, what do you think the future of the NY IDC is over the next 4 years?

As a Northeasterner, who follows NY politics, you have to understand that these Democrats come from working class areas, predominately white areas in NYC and outside of NYC. These are the remnants of the Giuliani/Bloomberg/Reagan Democrats who are socially moderate, fiscally moderate. They don't care about social issues, they want a quality of life. The hard core progressives in NY want social engineering, and some of these voters who elect people like Tony Avella and others don't want those policies.

in that case renaming themselves the "Immigrants Defence Coalition" will surely cement them in power!
