No/No

Yes, let bygones be bygones, and accept that Crimea is Russian.

oh, i accept crimea as russian.

this is not about crimea in itself.

it's about calling out the SPECIAL way, this has happened, the military annextion, the fake referendum, the lies...there must be a way to prevent something like this on a bigger scale in eastern ukraine and many other east-european countries.

not accepting the crimea officially is only a weapon again being forced to accept the same in luhansk and donetsk.

that's why europe needs a stronger military as a way to defend its borders against the forces who wants to destabilize it.

Indeed.

The whole concept of peace and stability in Europe after WWII rests on respecting existing boundaries. Recognizing the annexation of Crimea is an extremely dangerous step which must be opposed firmly.

-Don't let your location get ahead of your reasoning. Territorial changes always have a messy component to them. Not adjusting to facts on the ground is foolishness.

if the chinese migrants/workers, who inhabit the - dying - east of russia more and more, someday decide, to annex that area through their economical, numerical and militarical superiority, i don't think this argument would hold well.

-There are no Chinese of any significant number in Eastern Russia, and no Russian would ever voluntarily support Chinese annexation. Totally different in every way.

-Only as long as a 100-foot-tall wall gets build around them. The Caucasus is a classic Gaza-like wolf-by-the-ear situation.
