Past me would have been shocked to learn of future me's disdain for Bernie Sanders and support for Hillary Clinton in the primary.

-I still can't understand why anyone would vote for HRC over Bernie.

A mix of problems I had with Sanders (not the same level of detail in policy, many of his lans not adding up, he embodied the purity tests that I hated so much and loathed about the Tea Party, he was often more in opposition to things than for them) and positives about HRC. (Command of policy, LBJ-like ability to wrangle Congress to her side, and after Bush and Obama, at least for me, the prospect of a tested insider at the helm was downright refreshing)

No surprise whatsoever. I've been a yuge Bernie fan ever since I learned about him around 2008. I was already on board with supporting him if he ran in 2012.

I voted for HRC in 2008 and after the 2012 election, I figured HRC was going to run and that I would enthusiastically vote for her again.

Wouldn't have surprised myself at all. I wouldn't jumped at the thought of Bernie actually running for president, and I fully expected Hillary to be the Democratic candidate in 2016 anyway.

-I still do not understand why you support boring establishment hacks like that with the strong "First Executive Orders" list you came up with.

Seeing as I have admired Hillary Clinton for 25 years, it probably couldn't have been less surprising that I supported her yet again.

Sanders: not remotely surprised (well, surprised that Sanders ran in the first place, but not surprised that I would support him). A number of the specifics of Sanders's presidential run and my views on it would have surprised my past self.
Clinton: mildly surprised that I didn't vote Green or become a radical leftist in the intervening years.

Kasich when he was a chair man of the house budget committee gave this country 4 budget surpluses , then as governor turned Ohio record deficit into a surplus . He cut taxes got rid of bad regulations and turned Ohio around . He has a record of success and hats why I suppprt him

Secondly the republican establishment candidates going into this election was Jeb Bush and Chris Christie and I did not support either of them espically bush .

Lastly the anti establishment republican  candidates were all terrible , Cruz ( total liar , and a fundamentalist), trump ( extremely sleazy ,stupid, not qualified ,and  terrible person ) and Carson (like trump no experience in government ).

I probably would have been a bit astonished to find me initially rooting for Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primaries. Then again, I often have the habit of first considering the seemingly pragmatic and reasonable choice, before switching to the idealistic one.

Otherwise no big surprise at having supported Hillary against Trump in the general.

This, plus I don't see why can't one support Clinton over Bernie if they support her policies. The content of her Wall Street speeches made me especially hopeful that she'd win.

Paul and Cruz would not have surprised me since I supported both of them in 2012 as well. As for the general election:

I would be appalled to think that I voted for Trump.

Supporting Rubio in the primary was expected. Already followed and loved him in 2012. And since I supported Romney in 2012, supporting Rubio in the Republican primary was a logical step anyway. However, I could never have foreseen that I would support Hillary Clinton, and if 2016 DavidB would have told libertarian 2012 DavidB that future DavidB would be #WithHer, that would certainly have been a big WTF moment. Did I become a liberal, or did the Republicans nominate David Duke?

Well, I first came up with the idea of a Kasich/Rubio ticket in the latter half of 2012, so...

I started supporting Hillary immediately after the election in 2012 was called for Obama so I wouldn't be surprised at all
