In Brazil, the millennials are more willing to work in the public sector than the previous generations were.
Here, the characteristics of the public employment are different of the characteristics of the private employment. The public sector in Brazil may not hire workers through job interview. Written admission tests and academic score are required. This is a way to avoid politicians to hire their friends. There are some side effects. Many young people who don't have big soft skills like to apply for public employment because they need to show only their hard skills. Job interviews require soft skills, written tests require hard skills.
After three years of job, it is very hard to fire a public sector employee. They cannot be fired to cut costs. They can be fired only if they do something very bad. So, people who search government jobs search some stability.
The millennials are the generation who is more willing to be happy than to be rich. So, they are willing to look for jobs in which they do not have to be very worried. Even if these jobs don't pay very high salaries. Besides, the salary of the public employment increased a lot in Brazil in the 2000s.

What about other countries? Do millennials in your countries like to work in the public sector too?
