If you simply take the states that have R+ PVIs for 2016 and give them two Republican Senators and take the states with D+ PVIs and give them two Democratic Senators, you have a 64-36 GOP majority.  Even if you just give all Trump states two Republican Senators and all Clinton states two Democratic ones, you still have a 60-40 filibuster-proof GOP majority.  In fact, there are 11 Trump state Democratic Senators (and 15 in states that voted to the right of the nation as a whole) and only 3 Clinton state Republican Senators.

I think the natural equilibrium of the Senate with present coalitions is a Republican filibuster-proof majority.

It would be if there weren't three Senate classes.    Having only 1/3 of the Senate up in a cycle is what helps the Democrats.

By 2021 there could be a Republican super majority in the senate. The democrats aren't learning at all from their mistakes. So foolish.

If the Democrats don't wake up soon it could be. Don't assume that the 2016 map is permanent, though.

I agree, but in the point to Texas, Georgia, and Arizona.
