Muslims represent less than one percent of the U.S. population and almost all of them live in coastal metropolitan areas but yeah, I guess anyone who hasn't personally interacted with one is a racist, ignorant hillbilly bumpkin.

I'd say 10-20%, although the number is probably higher if they talked to a Muslim and didn't know they were Muslim. Not sure that counts towards the question though. The muslim population in the US is still small and highly concentrated in certain areas. A good number of people in white states have never talked to a black person for that matter, so I doubt the number for a Muslim is that high.

I don't believe in elitist liberals.  I keep hearing about them, but most of the liberals I know are populist people at heart committed to egalitarian principles, even if they're totally wrong and let their fierce commitment sometimes lead them to say unfortunate things ... hence why they became liberals.
