President-elect Donald Trump met on Monday with Al Gore -- one of the most vocal advocates of fighting climate change.

Before the meeting, Trump spokesman Jason Miller told reporters on a daily briefing call that Gore would meet with Ivanka Trump, the President-elect's daughter, about climate issues, but he did not know what specifically was on the agenda.

But Gore told reporters after the meeting that he met with Trump himself after seeing Ivanka.
"I had a lengthy and very productive session with the President-elect," Gore said, according to the pool report. "It was a sincere search for areas of common ground. I had a meeting beforehand with Ivanka Trump. The bulk of the time was with the President-elect, Donald Trump. I found it an extremely interesting conversation, and to be continued, and I'm just going to leave it at that."

LOL @ Ivanca wanting to make Climate Change a priority when her father called it a hoax!

So, does Donald Trump believe or not believe that Al Gore is in fact a Chinese agent?

Thank god for Ivanka; she can actually reason with her father. Supposedly Trump has a competitive relationship with his sons so there's a rift there and he obviously doesn't care for Tiffany.

Climate change is a huge reason why I could never see myself voting republican.

I can totally see Donald Trump flipping on climate change... I can also see that not turning out very well for him, politically.

Just a photo op. His policy outlook will be more like James Watt than Gore.

This is where Trump's devil may care attitude about coalition building and lack of attention to detail could bite him.  Given who voted for him and where, climate change is the single most dangerous issue for him to move to the center on.  If he flip flops on CO2 regulation, he could narrowly lose both the Midwest and Texas in 2020.

so you're saying two birds, one stone?

If Trump comes out for Climate Change...his cult will follow through soon as well

Probably, but this isn't about hardcore Trump supporters.  It's about Cruz supporters in Houston, Dallas, and Midland who never cared for Trump and can singlehandedly throw him out of office in they want to.

Against a strong progressive when their "religious liberty" is on the line, they won't give a damn!

We saw all this BS switching camps don't work - The electorate gets polarized as election approaches!

We mitigate climate change a bit, and Trump loses! A win-win for humanity! Smiley

i disagree....

1) there were cross-over-voters....they just canceled each other out and there have been more trump voters who didn't vote in 2012 than obama-trump switchers.

2) hyper-polarized austria has just proven the opposite.....if the vessel works. HRC was just much less popular in SOME states than was generally believed.

Ivanka is the only one of the Trump Kids that I genuinely like. She seems like a genuinely good person.
