So, 305 versus 231 EVs?

One unfaithful dude from TX and one from WA?

Again, if Clinton had managed to win MI and PA, it would have been Trump 270 Clinton 268, and we would have been in for a hell of a ride over the next month+ as we waited to see if one or more Trump electors was going to defect and throw the election to the House.

IIRC there was a talk about two from WA.

Well, we haven't had a faithless elector since 2004 (and no actually voting for a someone else since 1988), so it's long overdue (2004 Minnesota dude being most likely an idiot unfamiliar with the procesure and 2000 D.C. elector abstaining).

I just wonder what the electoral college would do if something horrible comes out between now and December 19. I am certainly resigned to the fact that Trump will be the next president, but considering how crazy things were during the campaign, it wouldn't be all too surprising if yet another crazy thing happened. What does the EC do in the event that things go south in the Trump University trial, someone comes forward with the fabled n-word tape, or there is concrete proof of him raping/molesting someone. I'm not saying any of these things will happen, but considering everything that has happened up until now, I wouldn't be surprised in the least.

Operating on the assumption that enough electors change their votes, do they change their votes to Clinton? The justification of the popular vote could help make that change legitimate but these people are largely partisan Republicans so that likely wouldn't happen. Would it be Pence? Paul Ryan? Would the House dare vote for someone who did not receive a single vote for president if the presidency gets thrown to the House?

Given how unpopular both candidates were, I think it would be apt if there were a few faithless electors from both sides.

Given how the transition team is a complete joke, it would be great to see a whole lot more of these guys turning up. Trump and co are totally clueless even with all the hand holding Obama is doing.

It would be funny though if somehow enough electors switched and we see an entire reversal of who supports and opposed the EC.
