Although Martin Heinrich needs to add some pepp to his step... & I'm pretty sure he will Not run in 2020 (esp since he would be re-elected in 2018)...

His background he talks about, the Message, & his Tone ... would likely have the most appeal to working class voters... especially in Rural areas (of the Dems likely to run)... Even more than Warren & Sherrod Brown, who come off a little for Senatorial.

Short Speech....Start Clip around 3:15 (the 1st 3 minutes is thanking people, etc):

I agree that a direct appeal to Rural voters doesn't need to be the main strategy in 2020 (although the candidate does need to campaign in rural areas some)...

Nor do I really think Heinrich is the best candidate for 2020...

Just that he would probably end up having the most appeal to working class voters (and comes off as very credible & sincere on many those issues)... He is sort of the opposite of Hillary regarding "Perceived" Honesty.. in that he come across as a modern version of Honest Abe.

But again- I'm pretty sure he will not run ... although he could... potentially... be a good VP pick & ticket balancer if Cory Booker ended up getting the nominee (2 younger candidates on a ticket like Clinton/Gore ... but would provide Regional and Rural balance)

The problem with Heinrich is that he has been basically invisible. He has been in the Senate as long as Cory Booker and still has virtually no buzz or media profiles. He hasn't done anything in the cabinet hearings either.

True... and again I wasn't saying he is the Best candidate for 2020, just he's would be credible to WC voters.  Part of the reason he does come off as honest and sincere... is he has kept his head down in the Senate- so he avoids "calculated or attention seeker" label.

But 2 Attributes:
1) He has some issue credibility: His goals back in 2006 as Albuquerque (pop 500k) City Council President were: Raising Minimum Wage, Create Jobs, Crime, & Solar/Wind Energy

2) He does have good Committee Assignments:
-Senate Intel
-Arms Services
-Joint Economic
-Energy & Natural Resources

(Which Pair up Nicely with Cory Booker's Committee Assignments..all of which are different)
-Homeland Security
-Small Business & Entrepreneur
-Environment
-Commerce & Transportation

Stop trying to make Martin Heinrich happen.

I honestly don't think he will run.. nor do I think he is the best Nominee for 2020 (although ..slight chance.. a good VP choice for a few nominees)....

If he was more Charismatic he would be a Very Strong nominee (good age, demeanor, broad appeal, & is the complete antithesis to Trump).. But Charisma is an essential missing element.
