I am getting one of my typical headaches that always seem to follow tragic or catastrophic events in the world or my personal life.

Anyone else get things like this?

when I'm stressed out, working the midnight shift, often times I get a twitch in an irregular place.  Sometimes above the lip, sometimes in an arm muscle...

I tend to get headaches when I'm not stressed actually. No idea why.

Stress results in headaches because it causes tension of the muscles, which can result in headaches.  This doesn't sound psychosomatic, but rather that you are too tense.  As hard as it may be, consider proactive relaxation.  Even if you are stressed, try to loosen up your body - take a warm bath, rub your temples, try to think about something else.  Even if you feel calm, your muscles still may not have been entirely restored.  Sometimes sleep helps, too.

Hope that helps you. Smiley

Hah, I've had that before.  I prefer not to read about diseases. Smiley

I've experienced chronic psychosomatic pain during past periods of severe depression - and they can actuallty be a lot worse than what's going on the head - a lot worse

I've found that the best way to stop worrying yourself sick is to (1) do something--do anything--that's unrelated to the stress (2) never let any feeling, good or bad, become overwhelming. Having a cool and impassive view of the world greatly helps.

Just yesterday, my response to the stupidity, inhumanity, and hooliganism coming from select members of the forum Left was simply to type out my rage in a post reply, then delete it afterwards. A great relief that preventing my soul from becoming as malignant as theirs, if they have a soul at all.
