Never Stop Fighting - Policy Speech #1: Game Reform
Game Reform. This subject is probably the pinnacle of what the President must be focused on in his or her duties. Game Reform is so important, as what we as citizens must do to continually make this game fun and entertaining is how we continue this decade and a half long tradition. We have enshrined it in our constitution, time and time again, to ensure a better game. Therefore, I think it is only necessary that we know what our leaders propose to do to protect and defend this game, and to make it better and a more enlightening experience for all.
First off is to start local. The Regions are so vital to the assurance of an active game, and so they must be protected from the top down, and then protect us, with great active leaders, from the bottom up. That's why I want a citizenry armed with information and insight to help choose, and become, informed and active leaders who will fight for causes on both sides of the political aisle. I will be setting up a permanent Federal Commission on Regional issues with at least one Representative from each region, along with one from the Federal Government. This commission will help our system of 'dual federalism' flourish, and help set the regions of a path towards an era of renewed activity.
We must also look not only to those already in the game, but also to bring old and new members into the fold of Atlasia, which will help reestablish our history of strong political diversity. That's why along with the commission on regional activity and issues, I will establish a non-partisan commission to tap into the rich tapestry of ideas that the forum houses. This non-partisan committee will also be tasked with 'waking up' inactive or apathetic voters to ensure that our 169 members are all participating in what this game has to offer.
But, this cannot happen without communication and input, that's why I will establish weekly town-halls and meetings between elected leaders, either in IRCs or here on the forum board, to help 'wrap up' the week and be on the same page on all issues. This also goes for Congress, as our double-chamber system needs CONSTANT communication to be updated on bills + amendments.
Finally, we have to stay on page with the wiki. The National Archivist, and staff, (of which I am a part of) will be coming back with full force to update and revive the Atlasia Wiki. We must know and have an active record of what's been done, and what there is left for us to do. I want to thank both Scott and Truman for their great record keeping on executive orders and trying to update our Wiki page, but this must be a communal effort and I promise to put the full force of the federal government behind it.
Thank you all, and I look forward to a new, active game together!
