I'm going to Serbia for a friends wedding this weekend. I'm flying out on Friday and returning on Monday, and have booked myself in a nice hotel for 3 nights (I even think Nixon stayed there in the 70's)

This is the first time I've flown/traveled a long distance by myself; and for 4 days will basically be navigating a city by myself.

Any advice?

If you're going to be mostly going around the city by yourself, I'd say to stay on the beaten path, don't necessarily eat at the first place you see, check out a few places and see if there are any that seem to be popular with locals. Bring more money than you think you need (though traveling with too much money is problematic as well), and ask your friend(s) if they have any suggestions for places to go/stay away from.

Not sure how much I can help. I've been traveling alone quite a bit (in fact, I am right now Tongue) bit always in places that felt a lot more familiar than Serbia probably would.

What helps me most while traveling is always having my smartphone to guide me. Since I'm terrible at orienting myself, it's prevented me from getting lost countless times. Of course you'd need roaming or wifi to be able to use it.
