Eh. Most Trump voters are just olds who vote straight ticket Republican every election no matter what because "that's what I've always done" and "muh Demoncrats." KKE voters have many choices and still go down that route, so I'd imagine most of them know exactly what they're voting for, which is pretty creepy.

"That's the way I've always done" is probably a better explanation for KKE vote, actually.

You might not like it, but most Drumpf voters vote for him because they like him. Burying your head in the sand doesn't help us address this fact.

They "like him" because of the (R).

Witness how those millions of Romney lovers vanished into thin air the moment he lost.

Uh, do you realize he won a primary before gaining that (R)?

Yes, with historically high unfavorable ratings, not only among the general electorate but among his own party as well. It was only once he got the official nominee seal of approval that Republicans began to fall in line and now overwhelmingly like him.

Don't get me wrong, obviously there are tons of Trump lovers as well, but for most voters it really doesn't go much beyond hackish braindead party loyalty. The people who would vote for Satan (R) over Jesus (D).

I'm not sure if a majority of Drumpf voters in November will be people who love him, but there is at least a very significant share of Americans who do and it's very important for the future of this country to understand how the f**k that could happen.

I think one shouldn't get mixed up between party activists and party voters.

The US is probably the country in the world where this distinction is the weakest.

The thing is anyone voting for Trump obviously has horrible political views. But I don't understand how anyone but a complete and utter sociopath could vote for KKE (or Golden Dawn). Most Trump voters are more like useful idiots.

And I don't understand how you don't understand.

OK why would someone vote for an actual Stalinist party? Why would someone want a Stalinist regime to take over?

Tony you even called TNF a lunatic and quite rightly so.

Weird poll. A Donald Trump victory is more feasible and potentially more dangerous than a KKE take over, so...

The best comparison I can think of is Egyptians who voted for the Muslim Brotherhood party. Now obviously I feel that the Brotherhood is repellant because to me the implications of the organisation are terrorism, repression and capital punishment. But for Egyptians the implication of the party was the friendly group that ran the local food bank, that 'graciously' stepped in to help with the education of children and the only real, non-wimpish opposition to the obvious awfulness of Mubarakism. The voters of MB aren't doctrinaires. Although if polled they support "Sharia Law" the implication for that is rather different for western ears as well.

Although I find the Botherhood disgusting, its non-activist base see it as something else. The same with, say, Yisrael Beiteinu or Fitna or the Republican Party or the BJP or the AKP or African National Congress or Morena or Partie Québécois. All horrid parties with terrible politicians and activists, but the bulk of their voters are just normal people who are creations of their environment. Smearing them as evil or terrible people paints too simplistic a picture of human nature.

A good friend of mine is a PQ supporter, actually. We've never directly talked about it, but I'm 100% positive he doesn't condone the racism.
